Newest Sphinx Features
Oakland, CA, January 14, 2013
The latest Sphinx version 5.3.46 includes a number of new features requested by Sphinx administrators and users.
New features in Sphinx Logon Manager end user software include:
- Store logon entries in categories
Categories can be specified in the logon entry input screen. Then on the Sphinx main screen, entries will be listed under their category headings.
- Set main screen size to small, medium, or large
User can now control the size of the Sphinx main screen. This feature was requested by installations that use long entry names and/or categories, and installations that want to see more entries at once.
- Load complex logon entries
IWC Replica Watches
Logon entries that cannot be recorded easily - such as VPN (virtual private network), RDP (remote desktop), or Cisco logon - can now be loaded directly into Logon Manager. A default VPN entry is also included.
New features in Sphinx CardMaker administrator software include:
- Back up CardMaker data directly from Tools menu
Previously CardMaker data was only backed up along with customers' regularly scheduled server backups. Now CardMaker data and configuration settings can be backed up separately. Also when customer uninstalls the CardMaker software and/or installs a newer version, software prompts make it easy to automatically save and restore backed up data and settings.
- Schedule random Windows password creation
Upon first usage, Windows passwords in user card accounts can be automatically changed to complex, random passwords. Thereafter, Windows passwords can be automatically changed on a regularly scheduled basis. Password change is synchronized with Active Directory.
