PRESS RELEASE
Sphinx at HID Smart Bar at ISC West
Las Vegas, NV, April 1, 2005 The Sphinx Logon Manager software will be demonstrated at the HID booth's Smart Bar at the ISC West show, April 6 - 8 in Las Vegas. The ISC West show is America's largest and most attended security event.
HID's Smart Bar will highlight the various tasks that can be performed with an HID iCLASS building access card. The Sphinx software will be used to demonstrate logical access with an HID iCLASS card and an Omnikey 5121 desktop card reader. Computer logon with the Sphinx software provides the security of two-factor authentication, through presentation of the iCLASS card and entry of a card PIN.
Because the Omnikey desktop card reader used in the demonstration is PC/SC compatible, the iCLASS card can also be used to demonstrate a card removal action, which will lock a computer, logoff the cardholder from Windows, or shutdown the computer when the card is removed from the reader. The PC/SC compatibility enables the Omnikey reader to immediately sense the removal of the card, and to trigger a reaction.
The Sphinx demonstration can be viewed at the HID booth, number 14047, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas at any time during the ISC West show.
