Customers Speak: Sphinx Pricing Model Provides Value

Oakland, CA, May 6, 2011

Many customers have reported that the Sphinx pricing model was a key factor in their "buy" decision due to two primary reasons:
1. All Sphinx features are included in one license fee.
2. Once purchased, licenses can be reused and issued to a new card.

Customers commented on how the Sphinx pricing model compares to competitors, saying:

? From a Municipality in the Midwest:
"We were considering various card logon software solutions. As we dug deeper we realized that many solutions can get very expensive, because they charge an additional fee for each part of the solution. The per user fee might have looked reasonable at first, but when we added the additional fees it quickly became more than we wanted to spend.

With Sphinx Enterprise we got card logon to Windows, websites, and applications - plus Sphinx' extensive backend administrator, server, and logon management features - all included in the one per user price. That made sense to us."

? From a School on the East Coast: www.swiss-clock.me
"Our students use their ID card to logon to the school network and different departmental applications. Since we have about 30% turnover on our students every year, being able to reuse our Sphinx licenses with new cards adds up to substantial savings."

In terms of comparing the Sphinx software with the competition, below is a chart that summarizes the impact the pricing model can have.

Sphinx Enterprise

The Competition:? What to Be Aware of

Single per cardholder license fee:

Includes both the end user and the administrator software.  With Sphinx, there is no additional fee, period.

Per cardholder fee + administrator software fee + server fee, etc...:

This approach can enable a relatively low per user price, but when you add up all the competitor's fees, the true cost can be much higher.

All features built-in:

The single license fee also includes all of Sphinx' extensive feature palette. ?The bottom line: ?Sphinx typically offers a richer variety of features, for less money.

Some competitors only offer logon to Windows, others have separate modules for additional tasks:

Make sure that all of your logon needs are met, and beware of having to add extra modules such as:? network logon module, SSO module, end user software module, card management module, authentication management module, etc.

Re-usable licenses:

Sphinx software licenses do not expire, and licenses can be reused when cards get replaced with new cards.  This can become a substantial factor over time.

Licenses coupled with cards:

This significantly increases the total cost per card over time.? I.e., over 10 years, a customer with a card turnover rate of 25% per year would effectively pay an additional 225% of the initial software cost.
