Sphinx is FIPS 140-2 strong

Oakland, CA, September 6, 2014

How good is the Sphinx encryption really? Why can customers trust Sphinx with their valuable data?

In a recent test, Sphinx demonstrated its conformance to the FIPS 140-2 cryptographic security requirements. Specifically, Sphinx only uses FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic modules, and its applied key strength and cryptographic security procedures meet the standard.

Publication 140-2 is the government standard for cryptographic modules. Adherence to FIPS 140-2 is a requirement for federal agencies and departments. Likewise, it serves as a de facto standard for security practice in general.
