Sphinx Compatible with SCM Microsystems' Dual Interface Reader

Open Domain Sphinx Solutions announced today that the Sphinx software is now compatible with the SDI010 dual interface reader from SCM Microsystems (NASDAQ:SCM; Prime Standard: SMY). Based on the 13.56 MHz radio frequency, the SCI010 combines contact and contactless interface capabilities and works with all ISO 14443 type A and B compliant contactless smart cards including NXP, Infineon, Atmel, Sharp, ST Microelectronics, Gemalto, Samsung, and others.

The SCM SDI010 reader is available from Sphinx distributors as a part of a solution package with Mifare RFID (radio frequency identification) cards. This solution package is especially appealing to customers who use Mifare cards for building access, since it enables them to use the same Mifare card to logon to their computers. The cost-effectiveness of this solution however, makes it attractive for any customer, since Mifare cards offer a high level of card technology for a very low price.
